Every child has known God,
Not the God of names,
Not the God of don'ts,
Not the God who ever does
Anything weird,
But the God who knows only 4 words
And keeps repeating them, saying:
"Come Dance with Me."
Come Dance.
Not the God of names,
Not the God of don'ts,
Not the God who ever does
Anything weird,
But the God who knows only 4 words
And keeps repeating them, saying:
"Come Dance with Me."
Come Dance.
Hafiz
This is fabulous! Where is it from?
ReplyDeleteHi, Sarah! I know the poem is by Hafiz, but I posted this back in 2010, so I'm sorry I can't recall where I first found it. He is also responsible for one of my favorite quotes: "Even after all this time the sun never says to the earth, “You owe me.” Look what happens with a love like that. It lights the whole sky."
DeleteSorry for the long post, but I must ask - how did you stumble across my blog? I'm curious as I feel it was a hat-tip from God/the universe telling me that I'm moving in the right direction.
You see, this .blogspot of mine isn't something I ever update, but I just opened a Damn the Defeatists tumblr. I've felt what you might call a whisper from the universe for some time telling me to start the blog in order to encourage people, and I finally did it. However, I was still a little hesitant, wondering if people will like it or get anything out of it.
When I got an email that someone had commented on this blog that I have never even promoted to my friends, let alone strangers, I was floored. So, thank you Sister Sarah - I feel like this happened for a reason and you were just the encouragement I needed to keep my tumblr going. I hope you are well and enjoying your time in Haiti. Loved reading your post about the Confience en Dieu taptap.
